yeah thats pretty much it, we showed up around 7 on a weekday and still got a table but it was packed by 8. order the bạch tuộc nướng muối ớt too, not just the plain grilled one.

Cash is safer, and ask for a receipt with the total written on it since the printed bill sometimes doesn't match what they quote verbally. Small notes help too, they rarely have change for a 500k note.

earlier is better if u want the outdoor tables, those go first. i'd aim for 5:30 and just sit down before the rush builds
5:30 works because the indoor fans only kick in once the grill smoke builds, so grab an outdoor table while the air's still clear.
the 6pm cutoff is real, they start turning people away once the charcoal gets going. if u do end up waiting, the snail dishes (ốc hương nướng) come out fast and keep u busy
