Which nearby streets are comfortable to walk back along at 10 or 11pm, and are there blocks I should avoid on foot at that hour?

id stick to the main roads like dong khoi and ly tu trong that late, the little hem alleys get proper dark & quiet, and honestly sitting till 10 or 11 is normal there

Agree on the hem, though Dong Khoi gets oddly deserted after 10 once the shops shut, Ly Tu Trong stays livelier longer. Pasteur is a decent middle option, wide pavement and still some traffic. Anything toward the river end of Ton Duc Thang feels exposed at that hour.

Nguyen Hue promenade stays lit and busy till midnight

Second this, Hem 88 on Pasteur stays lit till late

mac thi buoi side stays busy till 11ish

Ngo Duc Ke shuts early, dark by 10.30

Huynh Thuc Khang, lit till 11ish.

Fair enough, but the little side streets off Hai Ba Trung stay lit and busy enough to walk through closer to 11.

Got the same impression when I was there, though it was more that the shops pull their shutters down than the street going properly dark. The stretch closer to the market side had a bit more life to it, so it wasn't a total dead zone.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

The Salty Coffee's wifi is fine for calls, and most people I know aimed for three months and stayed closer to six.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Six months tracks, but the Europe overlap is brutal here, like 2pm to 6pm ish.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Yeah, US overlap is the killer, 10pm to 2am
