Best way to reach Bún Bò Huế Tân Trụ in 2026

What's the easiest way to get there from District 1, and is a Grab ride worth it at breakfast time or should I just take the bus? Also, do they sell out early in the morning?

grab from d1 at 7am is like 60 to 80k and beats the bus since tan tru fills up by 8ish

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

yep, go before 6:45 or the sidewalk tables are gone too

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah 6:30 even, by 7 the good cuts are gone

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Car plus motorbike traffic means a car can sit 15 min at Cong Hoa junction, so the bike option wins there

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Bus 152 or 03 runs down Truong Chinh, but honestly the walk from the stop is a hassle with traffic. Tui went around 6:30 and there was already a queue, by 7:45 the pot was scraped. If you're going late just call ahead, they sometimes hold bowls. I'd say go stupid early or don't bother

if u can ride a scooter, book a grab bike instead of a car. way cheaper & it lanes past the morning jam on Truong Chinh. tell the driver 'bun bo hue tan tru' since the sign is tiny & easy to miss

Agreed, but have the driver drop you at the alley mouth on the odd side, the shop's set back and drivers overshoot it constantly.

Getting paid in Ho Chi Minh City in 2026: banking tips?

Is it worth opening a local bank account, or should I just use my foreign cards and take the ATM fees? Also curious if transfers from abroad tend to be a hassle.
arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

honestly just use ur foreign card at ATMs and eat the ~50k VND fee per withdrawal, it's cheaper than the paperwork headache of a local account for a few months. If u do open one, bring your passport and visa plus proof of address like a rental contract, the banks are strict on that.

I've only visited, but I looked into this before a long stay. A local account with a bank like Techcombank or VPBank is worth it if you're there months, mostly because VietQR payments are everywhere now and cash is a hassle for daily stuff. Foreign transfers are the catch: expect to show your work contract or lease, and SWIFT fees plus a poor exchange rate on the receiving end. Wise or similar often beats a bank-to-bank transfer.

Wise still needs your tax residency sorted first.

Timed transfers before noon clear same day.
