menu prices at quan nhau spots are usually the real rate, maybe 15k to 25k for bia hoi, so no haggling needed

Fair point, though a "bia set" combo usually bundles snacks so the per-glass math gets murkier, worth checking what's included.

Bia hoi runs closer to 10k at 35 Bia Set.

10k sounds about right for a local spot, idk if tourists get quoted the same tho

Agree on the no-haggling part, but the spread depends on the street. On Pham Ngu Lao you'll see tourist-facing spots charging 30k to 40k, while a hem off Nguyen Trai stays cheap. Check if the price is per glass or per pitcher before ordering.

I went last year and it's not a tourist trap, mostly Vietnamese families grilling at the table. Book ahead for Saturday, walk-ins get squeezed after 7pm. Beyond octopus they do scallops, shrimp, and a decent bò nướng you cook yourself. Prices sit around 200k to 300k per person with drinks. It's on a side street in District 3, a short Grab ride from the center, so worth it if you're nearby rather than a special trip.

Scallops sell out by 8pm, go early.

Agreed, and the ốc hương (babylonia snails) go even faster, so order those the moment you sit down.

Book by phone rather than Facebook since the owner rarely checks messages during service.
