Coming to Saigon in March 2026 and heard about Quán nhậu 35 Bia Sệt for the bia sệt. Is it still running and what nights are best to go? Coming to Saigon in March 2026 and heard about Quán nhậu 35 Bia Sệt for the bia sệt. Is it still running and what nights are best to go?

The bia sệt is best treated as a starter, not the whole night. Order the đậu hũ chiên and a few grilled items early, since the kitchen slows down once the tables fill up.

Corner of Nguyễn Trãi, near the roundabout.

Weekday lunchtimes, mostly locals.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Lunchtime means 11:30 sharp, by noon the office crowd from Bùi Thị Xuân fills every table.

that tracks. the local crowd thins out hard after 1:30 or so, so the bia sệt keeps flowing longer than it would at dinner. mon or tue if you want the quietest tables.

I went last year and it's not a tourist trap, mostly Vietnamese families grilling at the table. Book ahead for Saturday, walk-ins get squeezed after 7pm. Beyond octopus they do scallops, shrimp, and a decent bò nướng you cook yourself. Prices sit around 200k to 300k per person with drinks. It's on a side street in District 3, a short Grab ride from the center, so worth it if you're nearby rather than a special trip.

Scallops sell out by 8pm, go early.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, and the ốc hương (babylonia snails) go even faster, so order those the moment you sit down.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Book by phone rather than Facebook since the owner rarely checks messages during service.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Gozleme stand nearby, cash only.

the goi cuon too, easy to miss on the menu

Their mắm nêm dipping sauce is the real reason to go, funky and worth asking for extra.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

weekday lunch is way calmer tbh

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Lunch sets run cheaper too, around 150k.

Yeah midweek midday is a totally different vibe, no queue and the grill stays yours. Just check they're actually open, some of these spots only fire up for dinner on slow days.
