Is it easy to reach on foot from the main streets around there, or should I plan on a Grab?

Go before 9am, it fills up fast.

Right, and if you sleep in past ten the shaded seats upstairs are usually gone too.

weekends even earlier, like 8

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah sunday's dead by half eight tbh

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

fair point, saturdays get busy even sooner than that. i'd aim to be there by 7:30 if you want a quiet seat. after 10 the whole block around there gets loud anyway.

The iced coffee runs out early too.

Agreed but the real cutoff is 8:30 on weekdays, office crowd from Bitexco rolls in after that. By 9 the good tables by the window are gone and you're stuck near the door with the heat.

8 works too if u just want takeaway, the counter moves quicker than the tables

Walking's fine, just dodge the motorbikes.

tbh just cross at the lights, teh bikes flow around u anyway.

I went last year and it's not a tourist trap, mostly Vietnamese families grilling at the table. Book ahead for Saturday, walk-ins get squeezed after 7pm. Beyond octopus they do scallops, shrimp, and a decent bò nướng you cook yourself. Prices sit around 200k to 300k per person with drinks. It's on a side street in District 3, a short Grab ride from the center, so worth it if you're nearby rather than a special trip.

Scallops sell out by 8pm, go early.

Agreed, and the ốc hương (babylonia snails) go even faster, so order those the moment you sit down.

Book by phone rather than Facebook since the owner rarely checks messages during service.
