Best afternoon tea in Los Angeles 2026?

fmd_goodCamellia House · #camellia #losangeles
I'm visiting in spring 2026 and keep seeing Camellia House mentioned for afternoon tea. Is it worth booking, and what's the easiest way to get there without a car? Weekday walk-ins around 2pm usually work better than fighting the weekend reservation queue, and the scones beat the sandwiches honestly.

Those cucumber sandwiches are criminally dry tho

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Scones are the move, but skip the clotted cream upgrade since it's just whipped cream with vanilla.

Ask for the corner banquette, way quieter.

Camellia House books out weeks ahead for weekend seatings, so grab a reservation now. Without a car, take the Metro B Line to Hollywood/Vine and walk two blocks; parking there is a nightmare anyway. I'd honestly pick a weekday afternoon over the weekend crush.

The B Line stop drops you right by the Vine St entrance, though the walk back uphill after tea is the real test.

Book the 11:30 seating instead and you'll beat the tour bus crowd that floods Pantages around noon.

11:30 works, tour buses hit around 12:30 actually

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Agree on skipping the car, but I'd add a buffer for the B Line itself since weekend track work can stretch the ride. If you're coming from Union Station, allow closer to 45 minutes door to door.

yeah and grab a window table upstairs if u can, the street noise down below kills the vibe

Best breakfast near Daybreak Cafe in Los Angeles 2026?

fmd_goodDaybreak Cafe · #cafe #breakfast #losangeles
I'm visiting Los Angeles next month and staying close to Daybreak Cafe. Any recommendations for good breakfast spots nearby, and is Daybreak itself worth a stop? Cofax on Fairfax does a solid breakfast burrito, and the attached coffee bar beats most sit-down spots nearby.

The breakfast burrito holds up, though I'd skip weekends after 9 since the tiny lot off Rosewood fills fast.

Nate n Al's on Beverly, get there before 8

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image elisebauch local ·

Eight is optimistic, honestly. By 8:30 on a Saturday the counter seats are gone and you're hovering by the register. If you sleep in, Dupar's at the Farmers Market does a decent no-frills plate without the wait.

Parking on Beverly gets towed after 8 for street sweeping, so the early arrival doubles as a free spot.

Get the breakfast burrito before 10, salsa's better early.

Agree on the coffee bar, their cold brew is the move.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image angelica local ·

that cold brew is legit but i'd put the breakfast sandwich at the place on 3rd & Huntley above it, biscuit holds up way better than their bun. burrito's still the safe call if ur starving tho

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Image josefaklie… local ·

Fairfax is the right call but the burrito's only half the story. Their iced horchata cold brew is what keeps me coming back, and the patio on Oakwood is quiet before the lunch rush hits.

Daybreak's fine but the line at Sqirl on Virgil is worth it for the sorrel pesto rice.
