I'm thinking about becoming a regular somewhere like RnH Solutions to actually see the same faces each week. What are the best recurring meetups or weekly spots in Los Angeles for making real friends in 2026?

the wednesday night run club out of a store on Ocean Park in santa monica is where i actually met people, same faces every week

Second this, 7pm sharp or you get dropped

Sundays too, or just Wednesdays?

Yep, they roll out right at 7 and the group splits into two paces, so pick the slower one your first time. Stragglers catch up at the bar after, that's where it actually turns into friendships.

Agreed, that crowd actually sticks around after the run too, which is the part that matters. Do they still do the coffee thing on Arizona afterward? That's where the real conversations happened for me.

Parking on side streets off Ocean Park gets ticketed after 8, so bike or arrive early.

Meter maids hit Main St too, past 8.

Thursday climbing at Cliffs of Id, same crowd weekly.

Bouldering there is where it clicks, not top rope, since you end up resting and chatting between attempts. Tuesday nights tend to be quieter if the weekend crush gets old. Do they still run the beginner clinic at 6?

Best ways to handle noise complaints in Los Angeles 2026

What's the actual process for a noise complaint in this city, does 311 or LAPD actually do anything, and has anyone had luck with the city's construction noise rules?

The leaf blower thing falls under LAMC 112.04 and gas blowers are actually banned citywide now, so you can cite that when you call. For construction noise, the real lever is calling the Department of Building and Safety on the permit, not LAPD. Cops won't cite a contractor at 6am, DBS will. I got a crew on Sunset shut down twice that way.

Yeah, DBS is the one that actually shows up.

Also worth grabbing the blower operator's plate or the landscaper's truck number, since 311 routes gas blower reports to the Bureau of Street Services rather than code enforcement.

Truck number helps, they contract-hop so the plate is the only link.

Good call on citing the ordinance, that gives the operator something concrete. One thing worth adding: DBS inspectors work by appointment window, so log the permit number and the exact start time for a few weeks, since a pattern is what gets them out.

Citing 112.04 is fine but the operator usually claims the blower is electric, so record a video with sound before you call.

Filing online through the city's complaint portal beats phone calls since the inspector needs a written record with dates.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

honestly 311 is the move for the leaf blower since it's a recurring thing, they log it and can send someone out, just don't expect same day.

311's ticket gets you a paper trail, but MyLA311 app timestamps plus a video are what actually make the inspector show.

Ask for the SR number and call back weekly to keep it open.
