Best croquembouche in Los Angeles 2026?

Visiting LA in spring 2026 and need a proper croquembouche for a small celebration. Any patisseries in the city actually do these well, or is it a custom order only thing? Most places here do croquembouche as a custom order, not off the shelf. I'd call Michelina or Artelice in the Valley about two weeks ahead, they've both done them for me. Expect $8 to $12 per person depending on size.

Ladurée in Beverly Hills takes them, order 10 days out.

Ten days is optimistic around Valentine's or Mother's Day, so I'd pad it to three weeks and confirm pickup at their Beverly Hills counter.

10 days works but their choux softens fast so pick it up the morning of, not the night before

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Sweet Lady Jane on Montana does them too, give more notice.

Agree on the lead time, and I'd add that Porto's in Burbank is worth a call for a smaller one if you're not feeding a crowd.

Fenwick in Santa Monica, three days out.

Porto's is solid for a small one, but call the Burbank store directly since the cake line and the general line handle orders differently. Give them at least a week if you're set on a specific pickup day.

Artelice is the one I'd trust for a choux tower that holds up in April heat, but call ahead since their case fills up fast on weekends.

yeah that april heat point is real. i'd add to ask them to box it dry and keep the caramel cool on the drive, my last one slumped a bit in the car. weekend pickup slot fills up quick so book it asap.

Bowmont Beverly Hills hotel: safe area to walk at night in 2026?

Is it fine to walk toward the restaurants on Canon Dr or should I just grab a rideshare? Also, how late do things stay open nearby?

canon dr is fine, just cut over on wilshire

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah wilshire's teh move, rideshare after midnight tho

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Wilshire works but the stretch of Brighton Way between Canon and Beverly is quieter and better lit if you're walking back late.

arrow_drop_up 19 arrow_drop_down
Image evchen local ·

Dayton Way is the better parallel anyway, wider sidewalks and the 10pm foot traffic from Via Alloro keeps it feeling alive.

Brighton's fine but the alley behind it gets sketchy past 11, so stick to the street side near Gagosian.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Reeves corner gets dark, cut over at Elm

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image christella local ·

Elm cuts you over to the lit part of the alley too

The blocks around Crescent and Peck are dead quiet after nine, so walk the lit side and you'll be fine.

honestly the crosswalk at Santa Monica and Beverly is where I'd be more careful, drivers run that left turn late. most spots on Canon close by 10 or 11 anyway so after that it's just the hotel bar.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image irmela local ·

yep, though the side streets go dark fast after 9
