The garlic noodles and the short rib rice plate are what I keep going back for. Parking behind the building is tight so grab street parking on 33rd if you can.

tbh the real move is hitting the taco trucks on Olympic around midnight, the ones parked near the auto body shops. way better than waiting in a line somewhere trendy. fwiw the al pastor there is fresher than most sit down spots and u can eat for like 10 bucks. just bring cash cuz half of em dont take cards

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Yeah the trucks near the auto body shops are the move, but swing by before midnight since a few pack up early on weeknights.

The truck on the corner of Pico and Vermont is my usual, they're out until 3 on Fridays and the cachetada is worth the extra couple bucks. One thing on the cash note, most of them have a Venmo QR taped up now so you're not totally stranded.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Cash only holds, the trompo near 28th is the tell.

Bites on Western is solid but I've been hitting the Korean spots on 6th around 3am, those places never close. The sullungtang at Han Bat is exactly what you want after a long night. Cash only though, learned that the hard way.

Han Bat hits different at that hour, just don't roll in right at close or you'll get the stare.

visiting in 2026 and want to see wildlife at a nature park in LA, is it fine to go around dusk or should i stick to daylight hours? also any areas near the park i should avoid after dark visiting in 2026 and want to see wildlife at a nature park in LA, is it fine to go around dusk or should i stick to daylight hours? also any areas near the park i should avoid after dark

Dusk is actually prime time at Griffith Park, but stick to the paved Fern Dell and Crystal Springs paths, not the brushy upper trails.

yeah the golf course edge off los feliz is where the deer actually show up, way more than the upper trails. just park on the street side and keep your distance. after dark i'd skip the lone stretch of zoo drive, lighting's patchy

Agreed on the paved paths. Bring a light for the return leg, the stretch past the Merry-go-round lot gets genuinely dark by 7 in winter. Coyotes are bold near the golf course at that hour, so keep small dogs close.

those coyotes also den in the brush by the bird sanctuary, so the stretch along the river past the pony rides gets sketchy too. honestly the soccer fields off riverside are a better bet, wide sightlines and the owls hunt there right at last light

Riverside fields are lit till 10, owls clear out once the lights kick on.

the owl action is really over by the 5 freeway edge where the scrub meets the fence line, quieter than the open fields

Trailhead lot on Vermont closes at sunset, gate locks.

Coyotes aside, the real hazard past that lot is the unlit curve where Zoo Drive bends, drivers cut wide and don't see walkers. A headlamp beats a phone light there. December sunset is 4:47 so plan the loop early.

Bat sign at the tunnel mouth reads sunset closure.

Fern Dell's lower stretch, right before last light.
