I can handle longer distances on level ground but struggle with significant elevation changes. While I often visit the beach, I'm hoping to find nature trails that would be more manageable. I'm located in the Pasadena area but am willing to travel by car to nearby locations. Any suggestions for accessible outdoor paths would be appreciated.

the rose bowl loop is right in ur backyard basically, 3.1 miles flat paved loop around the golf course, lots of shade and ppl walking it all day. if u want dirt instead of pavement, the lower arroyo seco trail behind the aquatic center is mostly level too, follows the wash and u can turn around whenever. i prefer the loop when my knees are acting up bc theres zero grade and bathrooms at the start

Griffith Park has a few good options. the Fern Dell area near the observatory is basically a flat shaded walk along a creek, maybe half a mile each way, and you can extend it on the lower Zoo Drive paths which stay level. also check out the LA River bike path in the Sepulveda Basin, head to the stretch near Lake Balboa, it's paved and completely flat for miles and you get egrets and herons along the water. for something a bit more nature-y, Malibu Creek State Park has the lower creek trail that's pretty gentle for the first mile or so before it starts climbing, just turn around before the grade hits.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, the Ballona Creek bike path starting near Culver City is paved and basically pancake flat for miles, though it's more urban than nature. Closer to you, Hahamongna Watershed Park in Altadena has the JPL/Devil's Gate levee path, which is dirt but stays pretty level along the wash, maybe 20 to 30 feet of gain total. I'd skip Eaton Canyon on weekends since the first mile gets packed and it starts climbing sooner than people expect.

Best beer selection near Hops Hall in Los Angeles 2026

Anyone know what the tap list at Hops Hall is looking like in 2026? I've been meaning to swing by for a pour but want to know if the rotation's still solid before I make the trip. the rotation still moves, they had a hazy & a couple sours on when i stopped by last month. if u want variety tho i'd hit the fridge at Sunset Beer Co first, way deeper list & u can take cans to go

Highland Park Brewery, right off Fig, better for hoppy stuff.

Hermosillo's tap list beats both for hoppy stuff.

honestly the cooler at Cap N Cork in Los Feliz is underrated for cans, way less picked over

Agreed on the depth, though their coolers get picked clean of Pliny fast, so go early in the week.

Their tap list rotates Thursdays, cans hold better.

Sunset Beer Co is solid but their taps are the sleeper, not just the fridge. Grab a pour there before you haul cans around, way fresher than anything sitting cold.

Fair call on the rotation, but I'd give yourself a buffer on timing, they tap the new stuff early evening and the good hazy usually kicks by Friday night. If you're driving over, the lot behind the building fills up fast after 6.

yeah the lot's a mess after 6, i usually just park on the side streets off York and walk. way less hassle. good call on the friday thing tho.
