Best theme park near London for 2026?

fmd_goodAdventure Park · #adventure #queues
Anyone been to Adventure Park recently, is it worth the trip out for a family day in 2026 or should I stick with the bigger names? Trying to work out if the queues and ticket prices actually stack up. Chessington, off-peak Tuesdays in term time.

yeah term time is the trick, but watch the school holiday calendar, Surrey half term weeks still get rammed. midweek in like late April or early May is dead quiet, walked onto Vampire twice. book online though, gate prices are grim.

worth checking the shorter local breaks too, some boroughs stagger theirs so the park stays quiet when the rest of the country is off

good shout but I'd go Wednesday over Tuesday, staff seem to get the rides running quicker after a quiet Monday. Also the M25 clockwise from the A3 is a lottery before 9am so leave early or you'll sit in it.

arrow_drop_up 13 arrow_drop_down

M25 clockwise is fine if you're coming from the A3 side, it's the anti-clockwise stretch past Wisley that backs up. Also the car park fills by half ten on weekends so pre-book it with your ticket.

Thursday's even better, half-term crowds are gone by then.

Fair point on staff warming up, though I'd still take the A243 over the A3 any day, Esher traffic is chaos.

Whitebox London gallery 2026: what's on and when to go?

fmd_goodWhitebox · #gallery #london #shows
I'm in London for a week in March 2026 and Whitebox keeps coming up in listings. What kind of shows do they usually put on, and is it worth planning an afternoon around or more of a quick stop? Whitebox on Herald Street is small, so give it 45 mins max, then hit the pubs on Bethnal Green Road after.

fair but check opening days first, theyre often closed mon and tue so march timing can catch u out

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

45 mins is generous tbh, most of their shows are one room so 20 mins & a coffee at the corner place does it

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah 20 is about right, though the shows rotate quick so check their site the week before, march slots fill up.

Pubs on Cambridge Heath Road are closer

Cambridge Heath Rd side is handy for the Approach Tavern, decent pint and not rammed on a weekday. If you're coming off the Overground at Cambridge Heath station it's basically on your way. Andrew's on the corner does a proper greasy spoon if you want food before the show.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

The approach from Bethnal Green station adds ten minutes.

or walk from cambridge heath, quicker

Honestly the 388 bus from Bethnal Green drops you right by the Herald Street studios, saves the walk.

388 stops on Bethnal Green Road actually, not the studios
