Greenwich market's decent on a sunday, mostly food and craft stalls, way less mobbed than saturday.

Borough's saturday only, sunday lot are tourists

tbh the sunday food bit there is underrated, the cheese stall by the west gate does a proper raclette for a fiver. just avoid the antique end if you're hungry, it's all overpriced brass. get there before 11 or the paella queue gets silly.

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down
Image juditha local ·

raclette's gone up to seven quid now mind

Maltby Street, saturday though not sunday

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image ira local ·

fair enough but the arches under the railway there are quieter than borough and you can actually sit down with a coffee

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Columbia Road flower market is the one that doesn't feel samey, proper East End chaos and the flower stalls beat any craft tent. Go before 9 or it's shoulder to shoulder. Grab a salt beef bagel on Bethnal Green Road after.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image bianca local ·

yeah the bagel place shuts by 1 though

the flower stalls are class but go the back streets for the real vibe, Ezra Street has the piano bloke & the little food pop-ups. salt beef is right but the beigel shop on the corner queues forever by 10

ezra street side is where the piano bloke plays & the pop-ups hide, way less crush than the main drag

Best diner breakfast near Route 9 in 2026?

fmd_goodRoute 9 Diner · #breakfast #diner #route9
Visiting the area next month and Route 9 Diner keeps coming up. Is it still the go to for a proper breakfast in 2026, and what should I actually order? The Route 9 Diner in Amherst is a totally different place from London's Route 9, so if you mean the Massachusetts one, order the corned beef hash.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image arabella local ·

yeah, two different places entirely, though honestly if you're near Kensington High Street the breakfast at the Whole Foods on the corner is decent for a quick sit-down. corned beef hash sounds right for the other one.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image bianca local ·

corned beef hash is the move there, extra egg on top

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Get it with the home fries instead of toast

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image violamerkl local ·

Ask for the hash crispy on the flat top, otherwise it comes out a bit wet.

worth knowing the amherst one is a different beast entirely, cash only & shut by 2 most days

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Two eggs over easy, not scrambled.

Spot on about the confusion. My local Route 9 is just the A4 through Hammersmith and Brentford, no diner in sight. For a proper fry-up out that way, the caffs along King Street do the job.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

If you're actually after a London breakfast, skip the chains and try a proper caff. E. Pellicci on Bethnal Green Road does a solid full English, and the family running it are lovely. Get there before 9 to grab a table.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Pellicci's is worth the queue but mind it's cash only & shut Sundays and Mondays. Go midweek if u can, saturday morning is carnage
