It's a proper sit-down bar as much as a shop, and booking is wise on spring weekends since the handful of tables go fast.
yeah booking definitely helps, and worth knowing they do walk-ins at the bar counter on weeknights if u strike out on a table.
walk-ins work weeknights but that counter only seats about four so turn up before 6 or you're standing.
agreed on booking ahead. the bar counter is small so even midweek it can fill after 6, and they pour by the glass from the open bottles rather than everything on the shelf. worth asking what's open that day
ask what's open before you sit, changes daily
that open-bottle thing is why i go, always something odd by the glass you won't find on the shelf

Book a few days out for sure. they do get booked solid round the weekend. the little bar counter bit is walk-in only tho
the shop side is still handy if u like a bottle u tried at the bar, they sell most of the by the glass list

the one on st martins le court off ludgate opens at 6.30 weekdays and is dead til about 7.45, wifi holds up fine for email & slack. cheaper than the pauls churchyard branch too. avoid mon mornings tho, the office crowd floods in earlier

Good shout on the price, though the seats by the window are the ones worth nabbing before the 7.45 rush.
Honestly the one tucked inside the Royal Exchange does a decent quiet start, doors open 6.45 and it's mostly security guards and a couple of laptops till 8. Wi-Fi's fine, sockets are scarce though so grab the wall table near the stairs.
