yeah the pies are solid but get there before 1 on a match day or it's chaos
Pie and pint runs till 8, mind, not all evening, and the steak and ale beats the chicken one.
Honestly the fish and chips at the Silver Cross itself are better than they look, proper crispy batter. If you want something different walk down to the Red Lion on Parliament St, their sausage and mash is decent and it's quieter.

agreed, that runny yolk is class. ask for extra piccalilli with it, they usually have a jar behind teh bar. not on the menu tho so you gotta ask.

book direct on their site a few weeks out, tues to thurs lunch is way easier to get & cheaper than dinner
yeah lunch is the move, but avoid the set menu if u actually want the good stuff, it's a bit naff
id honestly just walk in mid afternoon, we do that loads & it usually works
