Sounds like you've got a set from a Birmingham or London street photographer. Mike Skinner was living in south London around 2000-2001 when he was putting together Original Pirate Material, and the cover shot was taken on a council estate, I want to say in the Oval or Kennington area. The photographer was doing that whole gritty documentary thing that was big in the late 90s, lots of flash on real people at night. If the collection has handwritten notes or contact sheets those are prob worth more than the prints themselves.

if its the rut blees luxemburg set then those prints sometimes show up in groups from a 2001 exhibition, she had a show at the photgraphers gallery i think. value really depends on whether theyre signed on the back vs just stamped, unsigned ones go for way less. also worth checking if any are from the same roll as the cover, that specific frame is the one collectors actually want

the OPM cover was shot by a photographer called rut Blees luxemburg, she did a lot of night work around london estates with long exposures, that greenish tower block glow is kind of her signature. if the collection is hers or from that same circle its a different beast to the usual flash-in-the-face street stuff, more about empty streets & sodium light. check the back of the prints for a stamp or lab code, thatll tell u more than the image itself sometimes

It's on the pricey side but not outrageous, and I'd book ahead for weekends since walk-ins get turned away after 7.

yeah booking ahead is the move, especially saturdays. prices are around 25 to 35 for mains so not mad for that stretch of town. i'd aim for a weekday lunch if u want to suss it without the crowds

The weekday lunch call is right, though I'd ring rather than just turn up because they hold tables for reservations. Portions run generous so you can skip starters and keep it nearer 30 a head.

True about after 7, though midweek lunch is dead quiet and the set menu knocks a tenner off.

Weekday evenings might actually be the sweet spot if you want to avoid the weekend surcharge.

booking ahead is smart, the walk-in cutoff is real

Walk-ins after 7 do get turned away but they'll sometimes squeeze you at the bar if a table no-shows.

Book the 12.30 Sunday slot, quieter than evenings.

Agreed on the timing, though the 12.30 slot fills up fast so ring them by Friday.

Sunday lunch there is a different pace entirely, much calmer than a Saturday night. They do a proper roast then and I'd ask for a table away from the door, it gets draughty.
