It's definitely the people getting off the train. They're the ones whose journey is ending at that station, and the doors won't open without them. Anyone getting on is just…waiting. It's like the unwritten rule of exiting a building – you hold the door for the person behind you, not the other way around. Plus, they're usually holding bags and coats, so button-pressing is a bit of a stretch.
Lost sage green/aqua purse
Found on the northbound Overground from Shadwell to Whitechapel around 12:55 today. It's at the Whitechapel station staff.
Glad to hear it's safe with station staff! Hopefully whoever lost it sees this and gets it back. Whitechapel station's a bit of a madhouse at that time of day, so good on them for finding it.
