Looking for badminton courts in Dubai?

Anyone who's a part of a group that plays badminton (indoor) now and then or is willing to book an indoor court (I use Playo to book) & play a couple of games (singles or mixed doubles too)..?! honestly the Al Quoz spots get packed after 8pm so if you can do weekday mornings it's way easier to get a court. Dubai Sports World at WTC is seasonal (summer only) but the AC there is brutal in a good way. ngl i've had better luck just asking around at the courts themselves than on Playo, the app booking is fine but finding ppl is teh hard part. what area are u based in?

if you're near Mirdif or Deira side, the Shabab Al Ahli club courts in Al Mamzar are decent and way less crowded than Al Quoz. i think they do walk in bookings certain evenings but call ahead first, not sure of the exact timings.

There's a Dubai Badminton Lovers group on Meetup that runs sessions at Al Quoz and Dubai Sports World most weeks, that's probably your fastest route to a regular game. Playo works fine for booking but the pickup crowd on there is thin, most people just use it to reserve the

Dubai/Sharjah Road Scam?

I helped a guy stranded on the ring road, gave him a ride to Ras Al Khaima after he claimed to have lost his wallet. Turns out he was fine, just jumped out and vanished. Did I get played? damn u basically did a free taxi run to rak. thing is they usually target cars with a single guy driving & look for dubai plates so u look like u got somewhere to be. best move is roll ur window down like two inches, say u already called the cops for them & keep moving, dont even unlock the door

yeah that's a known one on e311 & the sharjah ring road, usually they wave you down near the adnoc or before the rta cameras claiming wallet got lifted. classic play is they ask for a lift to the next emirate then bail once you slow down, sometimes a second guy on a bike is tracking you. next time just call 999 or drop them at the nearest police point, don't let anyone in your car off the highway ngl

The RAK route is the tell. No one genuinely stranded on the ring road needs to get all the way to Ras Al Khaimah, that's a 90 minute drive. These guys work in pairs and the second car picks them up after they hop out, usually somewhere past the Al Sajaa junction or near the ADNOC on E311. If it happens again, tell them you'll drive them to the nearest police station and watch how fast the story changes.
