There's a street called Kurtuluş Sokak where a few bars have outdoor seating and a mixed crowd, drinks are usually around 50-70 lira. For a livelier scene, the clubs on Atatürk Bulvarı near the coast draw a younger crowd on weekends, but they can get packed after midnight.

honestly, skip the fancy places on the boulevard and head to the backstreets behind the grand mosque near the old city. there's a tiny spot called kahveci that's more of a locals' hangout, they do rakı and meze for like 80 lira and the owner will probably chat your ear off about the weather. if u want music, go to istiklal caddesi around 1am, there's a few basement bars that blast turkish rock until dawn, no cover charge either

samsun's nightlife is pretty spread out tbh, but if you want a proper dive bar vibe check out the spots near the old tram line on saathane square. there's a place called liman that does cheap beer and has a pool table, mostly students and fishermen arguing about football. the clubs near the mevlevi museum are overpriced and full of wedding parties, avoid those on fridays. for a change of pace, the tea gardens along the mert river stay open late and you can smoke nargile while people watch until like 3am
