Yeah, that's pretty typical for a lot of smaller alleyways and side streets in @Bangkok. They're often family-run businesses, and they'll close up shop when they're done for the day, not necessarily sticking to a rigid schedule like a big shopping mall. 7 PM isn't super early, honestly. Plenty of places in the city wind down by then. The "mysterious" vibe is part of the charm though! You found a cool little pocket of the city. Glad you got some awesome Pad See Ew out of it.

Phuket's got a lot of hidden stuff, so that's not surprising. Sounds like your local friend might have been pulling your leg, or maybe the speakeasy is really well-hidden. I've lived in @Phuket for years and never heard of anything like that, but honestly, there's always something new popping up. Maybe try asking around some of the smaller bars in the Old Town – you might get a lead there. Good luck with your hunt!
