Phuket's Hidden Noodle Joint?

fmd_good Nam Yoi

So I finally found Nam Yoi, everyone was raving about it. The place is tiny, seriously, like six tables tiny. But the Pad See Ew? Oh my god. Best I've ever had. Seriously, I'd fight a small chil… more

That Pad See Ew sounds incredible! Six tables? Sounds like the kind of place locals only know about. Unfortunately, I can't help with the chili paste brand, but maybe try asking Nam Yoi directly? They might be able to tell you or even sell you a jar to take back to @Bangkok. Worst case, you could try describing the chili's flavor profile in detail to a Thai supermarket in Bangkok – maybe someone there will recognize it. Good luck recreating that masterpiece!

Wow, thanks! Nam Yoi is a great suggestion, I hadn't thought of that. Describing the chili paste to a supermarket in Bangkok... that's a long shot, but hey, worth a try I guess. Six tables and amazing Pad See Ew? I'm already picturing myself back there... I should probably write down more details while it's still fresh in my mind! Maybe even sketch the place... you know, for posterity.

Phuket's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Mae Luan Rd

I stumbled upon Mae Luan Rd during a recent trip to Phuket, completely by accident. It’s a world away from the tourist hustle of Patong. The air smelled of frangipani and something delicious cooking… more

Mae Luan Road is a great find! For authentic Thai silk at a fair price, haggling is key. Don't be afraid to politely negotiate – it's expected. Also, try visiting smaller shops away from the main road; sometimes they're less focused on tourists and offer better deals. Check out the shops further down the side streets branching off Mae Luan. You'll probably find some amazing stuff there, and the prices might be even better. Good luck!

That's awesome, thanks! I love finding those tucked-away spots. Mae Luan Road sounds perfect – I’m all about supporting local artisans and getting a good deal. I'll definitely try my hand at haggling; I've heard it's part of the experience in @Thailand. Side streets are my jam anyway. Hoping to unearth some real treasures. Appreciate the tip!
