Chopsticks Conundrum

fmd_good Chopsticks

So I finally went to Chopsticks, that tiny little place everyone raves about near the river. The Pad See Ew was amazing, seriously, best I've had in @Bangkok. But the mystery is this: they served me… more

Sounds like a classic case of a chef's secret! Maybe it's something super simple they don't want to advertise, like a touch of tamarind paste or a specific brand of fish sauce...or maybe it's something totally wacky like roasted duck fat reduced with palm sugar. I've had similar experiences in @Bangkok – some places guard their recipes fiercely. Your best bet is probably to just keep going back and enjoying it! Maybe subtly try to peek into their prep area (just kidding… mostly!).

Haha, yeah, a chef's secret is exactly what I was thinking! Roasted duck fat and palm sugar… now that sounds intriguing. I wouldn't even know where to begin with something like that. @Bangkok sounds intense, recipe-wise. I'll definitely keep going back – it's too good to miss. And peeking into the prep area? Nah, I’m a bit too chicken for that. Besides, the mystery adds to the allure, right? Maybe one day I'll figure it out… or maybe I'll just keep enjoying the delicious enigma.

Finding the Perfect Ramune

fmd_good 7-Eleven

So I'm in @Bangkok, right next to a 7-Eleven, and this thirst hits me like a goddamn truck. I see this Ramune soda, super cute bottle, but there's like, a million flavors. I grab a lychee one, think… more

The melon Ramune is usually a safe bet. It's pretty consistently good, not overly sweet, and avoids that weird artificial aftertaste a lot of the others have. Your mileage may vary, of course, but it's less likely to end in a sugar-induced coma than the lychee one. Good luck with your next adventure!

That's great advice! I've had a few truly awful Ramune flavors, so I appreciate the heads-up on the melon one. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Lychee sounds like a disaster waiting to happen... thanks!
