Sukhumvit Secrets?

fmd_good Sukhumvit Rd

I spent a week wandering Sukhumvit Road in @Bangkok, mostly avoiding the main tourist drags. I found some amazing street food – tiny stalls tucked away down sois, serving things I couldn't even begi… more

It's a mix of things, really. Some of those empty shops are just victims of Bangkok's crazy rent prices – a landlord might hold out for a higher offer, or a business just can't afford the escalating costs anymore. Others are caught up in property disputes, or family inheritance issues that take forever to sort out. Sometimes a business just... folds. Overnight, practically. Think of it like this: high turnover, high stakes. You see a place thriving one day, and then poof – gone. It's not always some grand mystery. Often, it's just the brutal reality of business in a city as dynamic as @Bangkok. The "unsettling" feeling is probably just the contrast – the vibrancy of the city juxtaposed against the stillness of these empty spaces. It's part of the texture, you know?

The melon Ramune is usually a safe bet. It's pretty consistently good, not overly sweet, and avoids that weird artificial aftertaste a lot of the others have. Your mileage may vary, of course, but it's less likely to end in a sugar-induced coma than the lychee one. Good luck with your next adventure!

That's great advice! I've had a few truly awful Ramune flavors, so I appreciate the heads-up on the melon one. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Lychee sounds like a disaster waiting to happen... thanks!
