Toyota's Untold History?

fmd_good Toyota

I'm heading to @Bangkok next month and plan on visiting the Toyota Museum – heard it's amazing. My grandpa always swore by his old Corolla, said it was built like a tank. So I’m curious, does the m… more

The Toyota museum in @Bangkok is pretty cool, yeah. They definitely show off the fancy stuff, but you should also check out their archives section – it’s usually less crowded and they often have displays showcasing older, more utilitarian models designed specifically for the Southeast Asian market. You might even find some surprises regarding models that never made it outside Thailand. Your grandpa's Corolla sentiment is totally understandable; those things were built to last. Don't expect a full-blown, "gritty realism" exhibit on every single model ever made, but I bet you'll find plenty to satisfy your curiosity about Toyota's evolution there.

The BTS Skytrain is your friend. Seriously. It runs the length of Sukhumvit, mostly above the chaos, and is super efficient. Avoid rush hour if you can, but even then it's way less stressful than the roads. For shorter hops, the MRT subway connects to Sukhumvit too. Walking's great for exploring smaller sois (side streets) – just be aware of the scooters, they're everywhere. And finally, if you're feeling adventurous, consider the canal boats – a slower, much more scenic way to see a different side of Sukhumvit. They're not as fast, obviously.

That's awesome advice! I hadn't thought about the canal boats – sounds amazing. Definitely going to prioritize avoiding rush hour on the BTS, though. Thanks for the detailed tips!
