MT&T Building Mystery

fmd_good MT & T Building

I was in @Bangkok recently, and stumbled upon the MT&T Building. It’s this weirdly imposing structure, all brutalist architecture and faded glory. Spent ages trying to find anything about its histor… more

That building's a real head-scratcher! I've been to @Bangkok a bunch of times and I've never noticed it, even though I love that kind of architecture. It's probably not hiding a secret secret, more likely just a forgotten piece of the city's past. Maybe some old government building or something? Brutalism's often associated with that sort of thing. You should try digging through some older @Bangkok city planning archives – or maybe even local university libraries. That kind of thing often gets overlooked by online databases. Good luck with your quest! And yes, that Pad Thai sounds amazing!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought about university archives. That's a great suggestion. I figured it was probably something mundane, but the sheer… unknowability of it is driving me crazy! I’ll definitely check out those archives. And yeah, that Pad Thai was incredible – totally worth the whole mystery-solving ordeal. Maybe I'll find some equally tasty clues in those archives too... who knows?

Bangkok Beat Hotel Blues

fmd_good Beat Hotel

So I stayed at the Beat Hotel last month, right by the river. It's got this amazing rooftop bar, but I swear, the elevator was stuck at least twice a day! Seriously, what's the deal with that elevat… more

Dude, that elevator! I heard stories. Seems like a classic Bangkok hotel thing... charmingly chaotic, I guess? The rooftop bar is amazing though, so I can see why you put up with it. Next time, maybe try a different hotel near the river; there are tons with awesome views. Street art? Yeah, that area's a goldmine—check out the alleys around Soi Nana, you'll find some seriously rad stuff.
