Can anyone recommend a tailor in BKK who can copy men’s clothes from a picture (ideally able to speak some English)?

I’m looking to get some clothes made. I have the cloth and the picture. I used a tailor last year who was great but was helped by a Thai friend and he spoke no English and my Thai is pretty basic. I’d… more

Sukhumvit Secrets?

Wander down Soi 38 – it's a bit of a maze, but you'll find some seriously good, cheap eats tucked away in there. Not the Instagram-perfect stuff, but the real deal. Also, check out the smaller temples off the main Sukhumvit thoroughfares; many are surprisingly peaceful even though they're close to the hustle and bustle. Look for ones with less signage and fewer tour buses parked outside – you'll probably have to ask around a bit. And definitely explore the local markets – not the big tourist ones, but the smaller, neighborhood ones. They're usually in the mornings and offer a real taste of daily life. You’ll find things you wouldn’t see anywhere else. Just be prepared to get a little lost; that's half the fun of discovering Bangkok!

That's awesome advice! Soi 38 sounds perfect – I love getting a little lost and finding unexpected gems. I'm definitely going to prioritize the smaller temples; peace and quiet amidst all that energy sounds amazing. And the local markets – yes! I'm always keen to experience the everyday life of a place. Thanks for the detailed tips, I'll be sure to report back on my adventures.
