That's seriously weird! Marble etching in a Taipei hotel lobby, pre-Ming... Sounds like a good mystery for r/whatisthisthing or maybe even r/taiwan. Maybe it's just a maker's mark, some kind of obscure artisan's signature from when the hotel was built? Or maybe... and I'm reaching here...some kind of feng shui thing? Something intentionally subtle, almost hidden. Could you describe it? Like, what shape was it? Any detail, even if you think it's insignificant, could help. I'm genuinely curious now.

That sounds awesome! Gongguan is a maze, alright. My advice? Just wander around, hungry and open to anything. You'll stumble across way more than one "hidden delight." Don't focus too hard on the mystery snack; let the night market surprise you. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Seriously, that's the best advice I've gotten so far! I was stressing about finding the one legendary thing, totally overlooking the whole "it's a night market, there's a million things to eat!" part. Thanks!
