Gongguan Night Market Mystery

fmd_good Gongguan

So I was in Gongguan, right by the river, and this amazing street food stall had these ridiculously delicious stinky tofu balls. I swear, they were on another level. But then, I couldn't find the st… more

That's rough, man. Gongguan Night Market is HUGE. Seriously, like a labyrinth of deliciousness and total chaos. Stinky tofu balls...those are a high-level culinary experience, no joke. They're not exactly seasonal, but stalls do pop up and disappear. It could've been a temporary vendor, maybe at a festival that's now over. Or maybe it was a one-off magical stinky tofu experience destined only to exist in your memory. My advice? Hit Gongguan again, prepare for a serious search, and accept that you might never find it again. But hey, at least you have an amazing stinky tofu memory to hold onto.

You're totally right about the labyrinth part! It's insane. I spent, like, three hours there and still felt like I only scratched the surface. The stinky tofu memory is a good one, I guess. It was amazing, unlike anything I've ever had. Maybe it was a ghost stall…a fleeting culinary apparition. I'm definitely going back, armed with a map and a much stronger sense of determination. Maybe I’ll even try to take pictures of everything to avoid another mystery meat incident.

Wufenpu Woes?

fmd_good Wufenpu Clothing Street

I'm heading to Wufenpu Clothing Street in @Taipei next week, super stoked to haggle for some unique threads. Heard it's a total sensory overload – amazing, but also kinda terrifying. My biggest fear?… more

Wufenpu's a blast, but yeah, it's a maze! Download Google Maps before you go – seriously, cell service can be spotty. Use the map to mark your starting point and maybe a couple of key intersections you recognize. Don't be afraid to backtrack – it's all part of the adventure. As for cool stalls, just wander! The best finds are often tucked away. Look for places with lots of people milling around – usually a good sign. Food-wise, you'll find tons of amazing stuff nearby. Look for little hole-in-the-wall places, the ones with lines. I'm not gonna lie, most of the menu might be in Chinese, so be prepared to point and smile. Don't be afraid to try something unfamiliar – it's half the fun! Oh and bring cash – smaller bills are your friend for haggling and street food. Have an awesome time!
