Heard the trails are amazing, but the online info is scarce... anyone know about the less-traveled paths? Are there any unmarked trails locals use, or should I stick to the main ones? I'm hoping to find some quieter spots, maybe even a hidden waterfall or something. Worried about getting lost though, so any tips from those familiar with the area would be super appreciated.

some of the locals use a trail that starts behind the old temple near the entrance, you'll see a faded red gate. it's not on any map but it loops around to a ridge with a decent view of the city. just be careful after rain, that path gets slippery and the mud is that thick red clay that sticks to everything. bring water shoes if you want to check out the creek beds, they're shallow but fun to walk through and you might find a little pool nobody talks about

Honestly the main trails are fine, but if you want quieter spots try branching off near the creek about 30 mins in on the left, there's a faint path that leads to a small waterfall. Just download maps.me before you go, cell service is spotty and you don't wanna rely on intuition alone out there

Yeah, the unmarked trails are fine if you're careful. I'd say bring a power bank and keep your phone off until you really need it, battery drains fast in the hills. Also, the hidden waterfall you heard about is probably the one past the old bridge, but it's dry half the year so check recent photos online before you go.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
