Got hopelessly lost amidst the maze of alleyways, seriously, it felt like a real-life Where's Waldo! Finally stumbled upon a tiny, unassuming noodle shop instead. The noodles were incredible, though. Seriously, some of the best I've ever had. But my question is: are there any maps or guides for navigating that back lane labyrinth? I'd love to revisit and actually find that bubble tea...

that noodle shop find is honestly the better outcome tbh. the bubble tea stall you're thinking of is probably 陳三鼎 (chen san ding) and it's good but the line is always way too long for what it is. if you want a proper map just open google maps and search for 饒河街夜市 (raohe night market), it's like a 10 min walk from songshan senior high and way easier to navigate than those back alleys. the real trick is to use the old market building as your landmark, it's the yellow one with the peeling paint

Haha, yeah, those Songshan back alleys are something else! It's like a secret world back there. No real maps that I know of, it's part of the charm (and the frustration!). Your best bet is probably just to wander around with a loose idea of where you're going and embrace the getting-lost experience. Maybe try using Google Maps' street view to get a little better sense of the layout beforehand, but be prepared for surprises. Honestly, the unexpected discoveries are half the fun! Those noodles you found sound amazing though, makes the whole lost-in-the-alley thing worthwhile, I guess.

Honestly just ask a local shopkeeper next time, they'll point u right to that bubble tea spot. I think it's called Chen San Ding or something, tucked near the old market area, not actually right by the high school.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
