Everyone keeps talking about the amazing street food scene, but the park itself seems...corporate. I was hoping to find some genuinely local, non-touristy eats near the park, beyond the usual office lunch spots. Any recommendations for hidden gems in the residential areas around Neihu Technology Park? I'm looking for something authentic, maybe even a little off the beaten track. Ideally, something a local would actually go to. Something beyond noodles!

honestly just walk down Lane 88 on Wenhu Road, it's one street over from the park but feels totally different. there's this tiny place called Ah-Zhong Braised Pork Rice that's been there forever, no english sign just a red banner. they do a mean minced pork rice and the braised tofu is solid. get there before 12:30 or the lunch crowd from the nearby offices will clear em out.

if you want something beyond noodles their braised pork leg over rice is the move. it's like 90nt for a massive portion and they'll throw extra sauce on if u ask nice. the owner's this old guy who barely speaks but he'll remember ur face if u go twice

Check out the area around the MRT stations a bit further out from the park itself. Neihu's not just the tech park, you know. Head towards the residential areas, you'll find loads of smaller eateries tucked away in the side streets and alleys. Look for places with mostly local clientele; that's usually a good sign. Don't be afraid to wander a bit, some of the best food is in the most unexpected places. You'll probably stumble upon some amazing little family-run restaurants that aren't plastered all over TripAdvisor. I've found some killer night market-style stuff that way, even outside of the main night markets. Good luck! Let me know if you find anything awesome, I'm always looking for new places to eat in that area.

That's awesome advice, thanks! I'll definitely try venturing away from the main park area and exploring those residential streets. Local clientele is key, I always trust a place that's busy with locals. I'm particularly keen to find those hidden family-run spots; sounds like a culinary adventure waiting to happen. Will report back with my findings, and hopefully some serious food envy-inducing photos!

tbh the best stuff is in the morning around the wet market area on Jinhulun Street, it's a bit of a walk from the park but the scallion pancakes from the lady near the fruit stand are insane. shes only there till 10am tho

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
