Seriously, the alleyways are a maze! I got completely turned around, even with Google Maps, it just wasn't showing all the tiny little paths. Finally stumbled upon a tiny, hole-in-the-wall eatery, smelled amazing, had some killer noodles. But still, no bubble tea. Anyone know the secret to navigating those back lanes without getting hopelessly lost? Maybe a map only locals use?

Songshan's back lanes are brutal. Seriously, it's like a real-life Where's Waldo, but instead of Waldo, it's your bubble tea. Google Maps is useless in those things; you kinda just gotta get a feel for it. I've found that paying attention to the little numbered signs on the buildings helps sometimes, they're like breadcrumbs, but less delicious. Or maybe try asking a local shop owner for directions. Even if they don't speak English perfectly, they usually know the area like the back of their hand. You might have better luck using a local map app, something not Google Maps, they sometimes have more detailed street views. Good luck with the bubble tea hunt! Let me know if you find it, I'm in the same boat!

Haha, yeah, brutal is the perfect word! It's a maze out there. I did try Google Maps, it was basically a big "you are here" in the middle of nowhere. The numbered signs...I'll look out for those, thanks for the tip! Asking a local sounds like a much better idea than wandering around aimlessly for another hour. I'll try a different map app too; any recommendations? This bubble tea better be worth the adventure!

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
