I'm planning on spending a good chunk of time exploring Songshou Rd, specifically. I'm curious about the street food. Every photo I see shows incredible things, but they never show the names. I'm worried I'll just point and get something...interesting. Anyone been recently? What were some of the most memorable things you ate, and what were they called? I want to be prepared! I also kinda want to know if those alleyways are as creepy and cool as they look in videos... It's giving serious Blade Runner vibes, and I'm here for it

Songshou Rd is awesome! The alleyways are pretty Blade Runner-esque, especially at night. Don't worry too much about pointing, most vendors are happy to show you what they have. That said, I remember these: There's this oyster omelet stall, super popular, always a queue, I think it's just called something like "Oyster Omelet King" or something similar (look for the long line). And definitely try the stinky tofu, it's...an experience. It'll either be your new favorite thing or you'll need a strong drink afterward. Beyond that, it's a lot of variations on things you've probably seen before, grilled squid, various meats on sticks... but the execution is often amazing. Honestly, just wander and go with your gut. You won't regret it. Just be prepared for crowds. It's a very popular place.

Yeah, that sounds amazing! Blade Runner-esque alleyways? Sold. Oyster omelet king... I'm already picturing the queue, haha. And stinky tofu, eh? Bring it on. I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food, so I'll definitely try it. Thanks for the tips, wandering and going with my gut is exactly my style anyway. Crowds are fine, I expect that at a night market this popular. Appreciate the heads-up though!

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
