I've heard whispers of a hidden, almost legendary, street food stall tucked away in a back alley, something about a grandma who makes the most amazing oyster omelets. Problem is, nobody seems to know exactly where it is. They just say "you'll know it when you see it." Anyone been? Any clues on locating this mythical oyster omelet haven? Seriously considering investing in a Ouija board at this point.

ngl the xinyi market crew is right but if she's not there try the alley behind the old police dorm on songshou rd lane 45. there's a guy who sets up a cart with a single red lantern around 7pm, he does a killer oyster omelet too but his thing is the braised pork rice with a soft egg on top. the grandma and him are basically rivals, he used to work for her like 10 years ago before they had a falling out over a recipe. just look for the lantern and the smell of five spice, it's between a scooter repair shop and a place that sells loose tea

i think you're overcomplicating it honestly. just go to songshou rd lane 27 around 7pm, there's a corner with a broken streetlight and a bunch of stray cats hanging out. she sets up next to the old lady selling betel nut, you'll see the steam from her griddle before you see her. if u hit the 7-11 you walked too far

honestly the oyster omelet thing is a bit overblown. i've lived near songshou rd for 3 years and the "hidden grandma" changes spots every few months. she's real but she's not in a fixed alley. she moves around the xinyi public market area, sometimes near the corner of songshou and linsen south. best bet is to go around 5pm on a weekday, look for the stall with the blue tarp and a line of office workers in slippers. if you see a lady with a big gold bracelet flipping eggs with one hand that's her

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
