Seriously breathtaking. I spent ages just staring out at @Taipei sprawling below. But here's the thing, the wind. Holy moly, the wind! It nearly blew me off the walkway a couple of times. I saw a few other tourists looking a little green around the gills. So, my question is: what's the strongest wind gust ever recorded at One Thread of Sky? I'm thinking of buying a wind-proof suit for my next visit. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I should of brought my grappling hook.

Could always check the wind forecast on Windy app before you go, it's pretty accurate for Taipei. But honestly, a grappling hook might cause issues with the security guards up there.

ngl i don't think anyone's been measuring gusts up there specifically. the whole xiangshan area gets pretty wild winds in winter though, especially when a front rolls in from the north. i've seen the trees up there bend like crazy during january.

honestly if you're that worried about it, just go on a calm morning. weekdays around 8am are usually dead quiet and the wind is way milder. also skip the typhoon season, obviously.

for a windproof suit just hit up the outdoor gear shops on zhongxiao east road near the mrt. you'll find something decent for under 3000nt.

Dude, seriously? A grappling hook?! You're making me laugh. I've been to One Thread of Sky a bunch of times, never even considered needing a grappling hook. The wind is definitely intense, especially on a blustery day, but I've never seen anyone actually get blown away. Those gusts you felt were probably pretty strong, though. I doubt anyone keeps precise wind gust records for that specific spot, it's not exactly a meteorological station. A windproof jacket is probably overkill unless you're going in a typhoon! Maybe just focus on picking a less windy day. Check a weather forecast before you go next time; you know, common sense.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
