The place was buzzing, but I noticed a tiny, almost hidden alleyway tucked between two shops. It looked like something out of a movie... all dark and mysterious. I peeked in, but it was too shadowy to see anything. Anyone know what's actually in that alley? Is it just storage, or something more interesting? I'm dying to know!

ngl i've walked past that alley a hundred times and always wondered the same thing. turns out it's not a temple or storage, it's a tiny handmade leather goods workshop run by this old guy who's been there since the 80s. he does custom repairs and makes these really simple wallets, no signage or anything. if you go during the day and peek in when the door's cracked you can see him at his bench

honestly I'd check if there's a small sign with a number on the wall near the entrance. some of those alleys lead to old residential compounds or tiny cafes that don't bother with street advertising. could be a speakeasy type spot if u go at night

I think I know the spot you mean. There's a tiny old temple back there, like a little neighborhood shrine that's been there forever. It's not really advertised, but some locals leave offerings.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
