But I was curious, the locals seemed to know some secret paths or viewpoints. I only saw the main walkway. Anyone know how to find those hidden spots? They kept whispering about a "secret staircase"... I should of asked but was too shy. It's a shame, I would have loved a more secluded experience!

theres actually a third option nobody mentioned. if you go past the main entrance about 50 meters down the hill theres this rusted gate that looks locked but it just needs a hard push. leads to this old service path that winds up the backside of the ridge. takes maybe 15 mins longer but you end up at a concrete platform that used to be for radio equipment or something. zero people up there even at peak hours. just watch your step near the edge the railing is sketchy

ngl that other comment is right about the sunset timing but there's also a side entrance on the east side near the old bamboo grove. if u follow the overgrown path behind the second rest stop it loops around to this tiny balcony barely big enough for two people. i found it by accident once when i was trying to duck the crowd. no idea if it's technically allowed but nobody ever seems to care

honestly the secret staircase isnt that hard to find lol. if you go up the main walkway to the very top and look for the maintenance door near the bathrooms, its usually propped open with a brick. the stairs are narrow and kinda dusty but they lead to this old observation deck that nobody uses anymore. just go before 9am or after 6pm when the staff is gone, thats when the door stays open. get there right at sunset and u'll have the whole place to yourself

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
