It's listed as a residential lane, but the photos online show such a vibrant street life. I'm curious - is there a specific time of day or event when this lane truly comes alive? Like, are there hidden night markets or amazing food stalls that pop up only at certain times? I'm hoping to experience the authentic local vibe. It looks like something out of a movie. I'd hate to miss it.

yeah so the thing about ln 162 is it's kinda two different places depending on when u go. during the day it's mostly just a residential lane with some random shops, nothing special. but after 8pm the whole vibe shifts, the fluorescent lights flicker on and suddenly there's like 15 stalls crammed in there. the real move is to grab a fried chicken cutlet from the stall near the middle, the one with the old lady who doesn't smile, it's the best one. also if u want a proper drink instead of 7-11 beer, walk toward zhonghua road and find the tiny bar called dala, it's literally just a hole in the wall but they do good cocktails for like 200 ntd

tbh the real magic of ln 162 isn't just the stalls, it's the whole block around it. head to the corner where it meets yanping north road around 7pm, there's a guy who sets up a tiny cart selling peanut ice cream rolls wrapped in cilantro. only like 40 ntd and he's been there for years. also if u need a drink, walk two mins to ximending and grab a taiwan beer from the 7-11, sit on the steps near the red house theatre, that's where the locals hang after grabbing food

Lane 162's vibe is pretty much always there, but it definitely ramps up in the evenings. Think after 6 pm, the food stalls start appearing, and it gets much more lively. It's not a full-blown night market, more like a bunch of smaller, independent vendors setting up shop. Weekends are even better. You'll find a mix of stuff, from street food classics to more unusual snacks. Don't expect flashy lights and a huge crowd, though. It's the kind of place where you just wander, explore, and stumble upon cool little things. It's charming, not overwhelming.

That's awesome, thanks! Sounds exactly the kind of low-key, cool place I was hoping for. Definitely hitting it up this weekend then. Any particular food stalls you'd recommend? Or anything I should know before I go, like, are there any particularly good spots to grab a drink nearby?

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
