That's freaky! I've stayed in plenty of hotels in @Seoul, and never heard anything like that. Maybe it was some kind of super low-frequency sound system for... uh... something? Or maybe it's just the building settling, and the acoustics are weird at that time of day. Could be plumbing too. Old buildings can make all sorts of noises. Did you try asking the staff? They might know. If not, maybe it's just a Seoul mystery you solved yourself! You got a great story out of it at least.
