The "must-try" is subjective, but if you like spicy and want something genuinely local, hunt down the laksa stalls. They're not all created equal though – some are way better than others. Ask around! NUS students are usually pretty helpful and can point you to the legendary laksa spot. Prepare for a queue, it's worth it. Also, don't sleep on the roti prata places – they’re everywhere and surprisingly good.
