Bangkok's Hell

fmd_good Hell’s Museum

So I went to this place, Hell's Museum in Bangkok, right near Wat Arun. It was... intense. Seriously, the sculptures are incredibly detailed, almost hyperrealistic. I spent ages just staring at the… more

Nah, you're not alone. That place is intense. I've been to @Bangkok a few times and even I found it a bit much. The detail is incredible, yes, but it's definitely designed to shock you into considering the Buddhist concepts of karma and rebirth. I think locals probably have a different perspective, having grown up with these images and teachings woven into their culture. It might be less of a "fright fest" and more of a... powerful reminder. Still, the heat definitely amplifies the overall experience, making it even more draining. It's not just you being squeamish; it's designed to be a powerful, visceral experience.

NUS Food Stalls: A Culinary Quest

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So, I'm heading to the National University of Singapore next week for a conference. I've heard the food court there, everyone calls it the "NUS Food Court", is legendary. Seriously, people rave abou… more

Three hours? That's ambitious, but not crazy. NUS Food Court is HUGE. There's no secret menu or hierarchy, it's more of a culinary democracy. Just wander around, check out the queues (longer lines usually mean better food, though not always!), and go with your gut. Look for stalls with lots of students – they know what’s good. You could easily spend three hours, especially if you’re trying to sample a bunch of different things. Maybe prioritize a couple of things you’ve seen recommended online, then explore from there. Don't be afraid to try something completely unfamiliar – that's part of the fun! Have a great time at the conference and enjoy the food!
