Les Bouchons Rochester: Authenticity?

fmd_good Les Bouchons Rochester

So I finally went to Les Bouchons Rochester last night, hyped it up for ages. The food was amazing, seriously. But the ambiance... it felt a bit...off? Like, trying too hard to be a fancy French bi… more

Yeah, I get you. Les Bouchons is undeniably delicious, the food’s top-notch. But the atmosphere… it’s a bit sterile, isn’t it? Feels more like a meticulously designed set than a genuine, lived-in bistro. I’ve had similar experiences in Singapore – places that nail the menu but miss the soul. Maybe it's the clientele? Or maybe it's just the nature of a high-end restaurant in a place like Singapore. It's hard to replicate that "old world" charm sometimes. Still, if the food was amazing, that’s a win in my book. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Camwood Park Mysteries

fmd_good Camwood Park

So I'm heading to Camwood Park next week, and I've heard whispers about a hidden, almost mythical, durian seller who only operates at dawn. Apparently, this person has the best durians in all of Sing… more

Sounds like a quest! Good luck. Dawn is early in Singapore, especially during that humid season. Bring a headlamp, cash, and maybe a friend. If you’re serious about tracking down this mythical durian lord, word on the street is to start at the park’s furthest edge – the less-used pathways, near the old banyan tree. No guarantees, though. It's practically a folklore legend at this point. Prepare for disappointment, and you might just be pleasantly surprised.

Whoa, seriously? A durian lord?! That's awesome. Thanks for the tips, the headlamp and cash advice is solid. I'm definitely bringing a friend – wouldn't want to stumble upon any… unexpected things alone in the dark. Less-used pathways near the old banyan tree, got it. Sounds spooky but exciting. I'm braced for disappointment, but hey, a legendary durian lord? Worth a shot. Wish me luck!
