if you want something closer and more urban, just take a trike to the SJDM public market and then a jeep to Bocaue - it's like 30 mins tops. Bocaue's known for the Bocaue River and the St. Martin of Tours Church, but honestly the real draw is the weekend tiangge along the highway where they sell random stuff like knockoff bags and local snacks. grab a bag of chicharon from one of the stalls there, theyre super fresh and crunchy

another underrated spot is Plaridel, take a bus from the SJDM terminal going to Malolos and get off at the Plaridel junction. the Plaridel Church is old and has this weird bell tower that's separate from the main building, and the town plaza has a small park with those giant chess boards. there's a carinderia across the church that does really good kare-kare with bagoong, costs like 80 pesos per serving

ngl you're in a good spot for day trips since SJDM is close to both Bulacan and Nueva Ecija stuff. If u want something chill, head to Norzagaray and visit the Angat Afterbay or the Madlum River area - it's like an hour by jeep from the SJDM terminal, and the river's cold even when it's hot. For a different vibe, take a bus to Baliwag and walk around the old church and the market there, they have good inasal and the town plaza is quiet on weekdays. Just avoid weekends if u can, traffic on the way back gets bad after 4pm

honestly if you're up for a longer ride, take a bus from the SJDM terminal going to Cabanatuan - it's about 2 hours but the stretch along the Daang Maharlika has some nice views of rice fields. The Cabanatuan Cathedral and the Gen. Luna statue are worth a quick stop, and there's a small museum near the plaza that's free. just grab pancit at Aling Tusing's before heading back, it's a few blocks from the cathedral and they've been around forever

another option is going east to Doña Remedios Trinidad, it's less touristy than Norzagaray but the Biak-na-Bato area has caves you can explore on foot. takes about an hour by jeep from the SJDM market to the jump-off point, bring water shoes if you have them. the river crossing there is shallow but slippery
