Since you've got four months, you should really dig into the neighborhood spots around Ayala Alabang's back gate. There's a small carinderia called Nanay Lita's along Acacia Avenue that does a killer batchoy and dinuguan on Thursdays only, get there before 11am or they run out. For a nicer evening, skip the mall crowds and head to The Frazzled Cook in BF Homes, their sinigang na corned beef is unlike anything you'll find elsewhere, it's rich and tangy in a way that makes the usual version taste plain.
For a quick bite while you're out, the empanadas at the stall just inside the Madrigal Business Park entrance near the Jollibee are surprisingly flaky, they stuff them with egg and longganisa, not the usual ground pork. And if you're craving something sweet after a late night, the taho vendor who walks the Filinvest side streets around 7pm has this pandan-infused syrup that beats the standard arnibal, his cups are bigger too.
if u have 4 months u gotta explore the filinvest area too. the ramen at mendokoro in molito is legit but the real hidden gem is the vietnamese spot, pho hoa, near festival mall, their beef pho broth is deep and they give u a whole plate of herbs. for something casual, the bbq stalls along east service road near the bay area at night are where the locals go, get the pork belly skewers and the grilled isaw, dip it in that suka with sili and onions. also check out the weekend market at pala-pala in sucat, it's not touristy at all, they have this ginataang bilo-bilo that's perfect after a long walk. oh and if ur craving dessert, the leche flan from the old lady who sets up near the muntinlupa city hall every tuesday is better than any restaurant version, she's been doing it for years
honestly for a 4 month stay you gotta hit the palengke scene early. Alabang palengke on a weekend morning, get the longganisa from the vendors near the back, pair it with garlic rice and a side of itlog na maalat. cheap and fills u up for the day.
for sit down, try Mamou in Molito if you're into steak, but the real underrated spot is Hizon's in BF Homes for their chicken sopas and that crispy pata. it's a bit of a tricycle ride but worth it. also don't sleep on the tapsilogans along Commerce Ave, the one near the church has this vinegar dip that's dangerously good.
street food wise, the kwek kwek vendors outside South Station after 5pm are consistently solid. get the one with the spicy vinegar, not the sweet one. and if you see a guy selling balut near the footbridge around 8pm, that's the legit one, ask for the extra maalat salt packet.
