heading to jameron electronics area for drinks later, do bars there take foreign cards or is cash king? also wondering if my visa debit will even work at most places heading to jameron electronics area for drinks later, do bars there take foreign cards or is cash king? also wondering if my visa debit will even work at most places

Load a travel-friendly e-wallet like Maya or GCash before you go, since QR payments are now standard even at smaller bars.

One catch: Maya and GCash need a Philippine SIM to verify, so sort that at the airport before you get to the bar.

Fair point on QR being everywhere now, but the setup is the annoying part. You'll want Globe or Smart activated and a top up done in person before you rely on it, since foreign numbers usually can't complete verification.

Small tiangge-style bars near Jameron sometimes add 3 to 5 percent if u pay by card, so ask first. GCash is widly accepted too if you can load it. Grab a receipt, some places pad teh bill.

Second this, and ask for the receipt before they print it.

Cash is still king around there, though bigger spots take foreign cards and your Visa debit should work at most ATMs if your bank allows overseas use.

Your bank's overseas block is the usual culprit.

Where to find Farnecio Eatery in Manila?

fmd_goodFarnecio Eatery · #food #eatery #manila
I'm visiting Manila in 2026 and keep hearing about Farnecio Eatery. Can anyone tell me where it is and what to order? I don't want to show up and miss the good stuff. Don't know a Farnecio Eatery in Manila, but I've seen "Farnacio" stalls near Carriedo in Quiapo, so check the spelling before you trek out.
