I'm visiting Manila for the first time in 2026 and staying near 1246 Bar and Restaurant. What's the vibe like there, and are there other bars within walking distance worth checking out after? 1246 sits in Poblacion, which is basically Manila's bar district, so you won't lack options. The vibe is casual and mixed, locals and expats, gets busy after 10pm. Within walking distance I'd point you to Agimat on Alfonso Street for cocktails and Oto for something more low-key. Both are a few minutes on foot. Poblacion streets get quiet and dark late, so just keep your wits about you walking back.

Farnecio Eatery in Manila: worth a stop in 2026?

I'm visiting Manila in March 2026 and keep seeing Farnecio Eatery mentioned for cheap local eats. What's good there, and roughly what should I expect to pay for a meal? Went on a weekday lunch and the line was mostly office workers, so go before noon or after one. Their longganisa with garlic rice is the better order if you want something beyond the usual silog. Cash only, and the seating upstairs is cramped but quieter.

Good call on the timing. The upstairs is quieter but the stairs are steep, so watch your step after a big rice meal. Cash only is real, no card or GCash there.

Agree on the timing, but bring small bills since they rarely have change for a 500.

Bring a 100 and some coins, they never have change

Tapsilog, around 80 to 120 pesos.

That price range sounds about right, though I'd budget closer to 120 if you're adding a drink or extra rice.

Longganisa instead, closer to 110.

Only if you get there before 11.

Fair price, and no GCash either.
