Got charged 180 for a coffee and I keep wondering if that was the tourist rate. What do locals actually pay for a basic coffee at a canteen like that in 2026?

180 sounds about right for a sit-down place near tourist spots, but a basic kapeng barako at a plain carinderia is more like 30 to 50

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Yeah, sachet coffee at a kanto store is even cheaper.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

true, though those 3-in-1 sachets are mostly for home na. if u want brewed, the carinderia pot coffee is the cheapest sit-down option

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Sachet plus hot water from the tindahan, 15 to 20

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

30 to 50 is for the plain stuff, yep. but ask for the brewed pot instead of instant and it creeps up to 60 or 70. still nowhere near 180.

Brewed pot goes closer to 80 along Adriatico now.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Probably more like 40 to 60 now, prices crept up.

Fe-Bulous sits by the Ermita tourist strip, so 180 tracks.

Robinsons Manila food court, half that price.

Padre Faura side, closer to 90

I'm visiting Manila for the first time in 2026 and staying near 1246 Bar and Restaurant. What's the vibe like there, and are there other bars within walking distance worth checking out after? 1246 sits in Poblacion, which is basically Manila's bar district, so you won't lack options. The vibe is casual and mixed, locals and expats, gets busy after 10pm. Within walking distance I'd point you to Agimat on Alfonso Street for cocktails and Oto for something more low-key. Both are a few minutes on foot. Poblacion streets get quiet and dark late, so just keep your wits about you walking back.
