Honestly apps do most of the heavy lifting in Manila, but friend groups and office barkadas still set people up a lot. Coffee dates at places like Satchmi or a walk around Salcedo market feel more normal than fastfood tbh.

yeah apps carry it but the barkada setup thing is real, my cousins in QC get introduced at birthday parties and fiestas more than anything. coffee first date is safer than fastfood anywhere in the metro imo.

I keep hearing about places like Jameron Electronics in passing, but I'm more curious about how it actually works day to day.

fair, though the crowd skews a bit older and paired up there, try the smaller cafes off the main strip if ur single

only been there on trips but a few things stuck with me. apps def do a lot of the work, though friend groups and office barkadas matter more than you'd think. malls are the default meetup spot (Greenbelt, Rockwell on weekends) since everyone gravitates to aircon. one thing that surprised me, being on time is loose, so don't take a 30 min delay personally. also mahal ang grab at night so plan around that.

yeah the 30 min thing is real, though I'd add that traffic is the usual excuse rather than rudeness, so EDSA at 6pm will cost you an hour easy.
