honestly zeny's is decent but i wouldnt build a whole day around it. its the kind of place u go if youre already nearby. grab is easier if you dont know teh area, jeepneys can be confusing for a first timer. go around 2pm, the lunch crowd clears out by then.

Grab, or just walk if you're near the LRT already.

Fair point on not planning a whole day around it. If they do take a jeep, tell the driver Zeny's on the side street off the main road, since most won't know it by name. A weekday around 3pm is even quieter than after lunch.

weekday mid-afternoon means some ulam trays are already cold, so ask whats fresh before ordering

Jeeps get crowded right at noon, so yeah.

Agree on not making it the whole day. Jeep drivers along the side streets usually know landmarks better than restaurant names, so point at the corner store beside it. If you're coming from the station, Grab saves you the transfer hassle.

Do they take cards or is it cash only? Also curious if a foreign Visa works at most eateries there or if I should just pull pesos from an ATM.

Visa works at Robinsons Place food stalls, not sari-sari eateries.

Cash. BPI ATM on Mabini, lower fees than airport.

Carry small bills since eateries rarely break a 1000 peso note, and BDO branches in Ermita exchange foreign currency faster than most banks.

Good call on the small bills, though I'd add that eateries like this often round to the nearest 20 so keep coins handy too.
