I've used the walk-in at Makati Medical Center before, about 1,500 to 2,500 pesos for a consult, and they handle foreign insurance paperwork at the billing desk. Bring your policy card and passport, since reimbursement usually needs both.

Is it more of a lunch spot or good for coffee too, and what should I order on a first visit?

last time i visited i went mid-afternoon and it was chill for coffee, teh kape and a merienda plate hit the spot.

only been once when visiting, but it struck me as more of a lunch canteen than a coffee hangout. get the silog plate or whatever special is on the board, & go before 1pm since the good stuff runs out. cash is safer too

yeah cash only, the tapa.

agreed on the early timing, but i'd add that the longganisa silog is the safer first order than the tapa if you don't want it too vinegary. also bring small bills, they had trouble breaking a 500 when i went.
